John discusses the rumor of Comcast's next possible outbid against Disney for a Fox merger.
We knew this battle and bidding war over the Fox assets in play was going to be entertaining and it has lived up to the hype better than most blockbuster films. It started with Fox accepting an offer from Disney at $52 Billion. Then Comcast crashed the party with a $65 Billion bid. Then yesterday it was revealed that Disney re-countered with a $71.3 Billion dollar bid. Now, industry and market analysts are saying Comcast could be preparing yet another counter bid in the form of an all cash $41 per share bid which would equate to about $79 billion, or roughly $8 Billion more than Disney’s current offer. There is still a LOT of time since the Fox Shareholders (the ones with all the power here) are set to meet and vote on July 10th.
