A new report from Fantha Tracks by way of Making Star Wars states that a “well placed” source within Lucasfilm confirms that an Obi-Wan Kenobi Star Wars Story is in the works. There were rumors that Stephen Daldry who directed The Hours was in talks to direct the film, but the source neither confirms nor denies it. The source has reportedly looked at Lucasfilm’s plans for the film, however, and confirmed that activity to prepare for the making of the film has slowly started to happen at Disney’s Pinewood Studios, where most of the Star Wars films have been shot. The report further went on to day that they are preparing to start shooting in April 2019 with a release date of December 2020. No word yet on exactly when in the Star Wars timeline that the film will be set.
