The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson has begun working on the scripts for his Star Wars trilogy, and gives fans an update on the process.
Last night at the Rakuten TV Empire Awards, Ram Bergman, Rian Johnson’s producing partner, spoke to Empire magazine and gave an update on the status of Johnson’s new trilogy. Bergman said: “We’ve started. Slowly, slowly, but we’ve started. Hopefully soon we’re going to get busier.” A number of people have been speculating that Johnson might not be getting a chance to finish his trilogy after the divisiveness of ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’, but this sounds like it’s starting to happen. Later on the red carpet, Johnson said that he still had to “figure out what it’s going to be.”
Mark Reilly and John Rocha are here to offer their thoughts on this news and talk about what this trilogy might tackle. They also talk about the reasons for why Disney and Lucasfilm are still going forward with this trilogy.
