This is a Real Life Jedi video--with a twist because this is gonna be the Sith edition. This video, we're going to talk about how to become like Darth Maul. 2 years ago about how to train like a Sith, but I'm about to get a whole lot deeper in this video, and I'm going to give you some actionable things to really help you reach that goal to become like Darth Maul, or a Sith Shadow/Ninja Assassin, in the Real World--just minus the crazy Force powers.
First we're going to talk about Maul and his training.
Maul is a Zabrak born on Dathomir into the Nightbrother's clan. His mother is actually Mother Talzin who was a a kind of Force Priestess practicing the shaman magick that was part of the religion there on Dathomir.
Darth Sidious broke from the Sith tradition of taking on an apprentice who was nearing adulthood, or already an adult, and he basically trained Maul from adolescence to become his apprentice. At the time, Sidious fully intended to carry out his plans to rule the galaxy and unlike the full potential of the dark side of the Force with Maul at his side, as his apprentice.
Originally, we assumed that Maul was only intended to be a weapon that Sidious would use to strike against the Jedi, and any other opponents, but this appears to not be the case.
Okay--so let's move on to Maul's training. How did Maul train?
Physically, Maul was a force to be reckoned with--he was skilled at acrobatics, hand to hand combat, and of course lightsaber duelling. According to the Book of the Sith, there are only two fighting styles practiced by the Sith, one style that relies on strength, which is known by the Jedi variant as Vapaad, and a second style relying on speed.
Maul probably focused on both these styles and then perfecting them so that he could adapt to using either of these fighting styles with a single saber, duel sabers, and exotic weapons--which is a fancy way of saying his saber staff.
